Andrew joined Daresbury Laboratory in 2016 as an electronics apprentice under Technology group after completing his A-level studies. After the first year of off-site training at a college in Liverpool he transferred to ASTeC Diagnostics Group and started on a brand new Degree Apprentice scheme; studying part time at Liverpool John Moores University towards a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

This is alongside day-to-day work as a technician involving design and production of systems and circuit boards for various ASTeC projects.
