Storm joined the
diagnostics group for the first time in 2014/15 as an industrial placement
student, working on a range of projects related to the exploitation of VELA. He
returned as a Beam Diagnostics Engineer in the fall of 2018, after completing
his degree in Aerospace Engineering at Swansea University and spending two
years as a researcher at Lancaster University, and is now responsible for
supporting CLARA's diagnostic instruments. His current projects include the
maintenance and upgrades of the existing diagnostics on CLARA, implementation
of novel electron diagnostics in collaboration with ASTeC's instrumentation
scientists and applying machine learning to enhance the instrumentation of
CLARA.
