During October'21 – April'22, high brightness electron beam from the CLARA Front End was delivered to eight user experiments following a competitive beam application process. These experiments covered a wide range of disciplines and included; novel acceleration, advanced accelerator diagnostics and technologies, and medical applications. User feedback was solicited after completion of the exploitation run. The beamtime call process, scheduling of experiments and highlights of feedback from users were summarised. All eight experimental teams presented results from their experiments and outlined plans for publication of their results.
The CLARA team presented the plans and timeline for completion of Phase 2 including the Full Energy Beam Exploitation (FEBE) beamline. This included plans for ~100 TW FEBE laser which has been fully funded over the next two financial years. The next beamtime call will be issued once Phase 2 commissioning has been completed.
